the country! Please use the map below to find a local club or organization
in your area. If you are new to astronomy, contact an astronomy club near
you and ask if you can join them on a stargaze or meeting! If you are like
me, you will be introduced to some of the nicest folks around, and see
some of the coolest things ever! One look at Saturn's rings or a transit
of Jupiter's moons... you'll be hooked!

- Birmingham Astronomical Society was formed in 1977 by a group of local amateur astronomers who felt that a club would provide a stimulating environment for its members, while at the same time, serving to educate the general public about a fascinating hobby. It really doesn't matter whether you already own a telescope and have discovered the pleasures of spending an evening examining the Moon, planets, and deep sky wonders...
