Hiking Trails: Waterrock Knob Trail (summit view)

The first part of the Waterrock Knob Trail starts off paved and uphill. The view at the top is very beautiful with wonderful panoramic views stretching for miles on a clear day. The View from the parking lot is fantastic for watching sunsets AND sunrise. You can easily see the Great Smoky Mountains from here! At the summit of Waterrock Knob, the elevation is 6,292 feet, one of the top 20 highest mountains in the east.

Directions to Trail head:
From Asheville (heading South): Blue Ridge Parkway to mile marker 451.2. The road to the Waterrock Knob Visitors Center / parking area / trail head is marked, and will be on your right as you round a blind curve.
